Monday, March 30th

Good afternoon my amazing Grade 2's and their Families,

I hope you had rest and fun over break, thinking of creative ways to spend time with family and stay connected to friends from a distance. I'd love to hear what things you invented, created or helped with over break.  You can complete a journal entry with a beautiful illustration (level 4 Picture).  For now, if you like, you can take a picture of your work and email it to me.  Later on this week, I will let you know where to share your work and how I will be sharing your learning assignments. You are missed! I know there will be challenges, here is a the clip to get us into the spirit of trying and persevering even when things are difficult!

Please keep an eye out for an email from me this afternoon outlining some of the next steps for learning adventures. I will also be phoning families over the next couple of days to check in and respond to any questions from the email. You need to know that you are missed at school but we are really excited about what lies ahead for us, and we will be sharing details with you through this coming week.

💜Ms.Foesier

Archie's getting his exercise in, hope you all are as well 😁

Thursday, March 19th

Hello to all my students 😀

I just wanted to send a little note to say that I am thinking about you all, I hope you all are staying healthy (washing those hands with the ABC's), and I miss you all very much.
Here is a little video for you all to watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVmDOJcBrR0 to show how the hummingbird is doing their part to help just as we all are doing our part to help by staying home.
Today is the first day of Spring by the way, Play outside in your yard 😘

As we won't get to sing Happy Birthday to Max before his birthday, here is a happy birthday video that Max can enjoy at home from all of us 😀https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90w2RegGf9w

This would be the perfect time to plant your Santa Sunflower seeds if you still have them. Plant them inside in a pot first and when the snow melts and the ground isn't frozen you can replant them outside.

Here are some nice pictures of my pets for you to enjoy, aren't they cute 😀 Alex Archie has his toy from you in his picture, definitely his favourite

Parents here is a link you may use to help your child with learning from home for the time being

- We built our Boats this week, take a look through the weeks posts for pictures, most of us have successful boats that float, hold weight, are stable with a keel, and can move through the water
- We continued to learn about Inuit people and their culture. We researched how inuits lived in the early days and how Igloos worked to keep them warm and how the built them
- We had a very awesome opportunity to explore authentic Inuit artifacts and see tools they would have used to make an Igloo as well as other tools and traditional clothing they wear
- During the week we got to spend time with our buddies and start to make Shamrock sun catchers, see pictures during the weeks post

Looking forward in Grade 2
- We will finish up with our boats next week by racing them against each other
- In Social we will be exploring what School is like in Iqaluit and we will explore Inuksuks and their meanings, we will construct our own Inuksuks (Please remember to send in a bag of rocks with your child for Monday, letter was sent Home Yesterday)
